The Charms Candy Company's
WCAP
Asbury Park, New Jersey

In November of 1944, the Charms Candy Company and Walter Reade Theatres bought controlling interest in Burley's Radio Industries Broadcast Company's WCAP, 1310 AM.  The Original 1940s Charm's Candy Tabletsstudios were first established in the Electric Building in downtown Asbury Park, New Jersey.

Then, in 1948, WCAP moved to Charms Candy's own building on Bangs Ave.  In April 1950, WCAP was sold to the Asbury Park Press for $75,000 and on May 1, 1950 the station became WJLK, named after the Press' FM radio station counterpart.
